I'm The RCK, and this page is for my fanfics and those written by my friends. At the moment, there's not much here, but I expect that that will change gradually. I've got to start somewhere.

Some stories here may contain adult material. All such will be clearly marked. Please read the warnings, take them seriously and don't click on anything that you're not legally permitted to read. If the story says it's NC-17, stay out unless you're at least 18 and such material's legal where you live. If the story says yaoi or yuri, don't read it if homosexuality of one type or another offends you.

I now have an updates list on Yahoo: the_rck_updates. I'll be using it to let people know of any changes to this site, updates to my fics (Yes, I'm being optimistic and assuming that there will eventually be more than one...), new stuff in the guest fic or recommendations section, or anything else new.

Kink Meme Fics
I wrote four fics for the Weiss Kreuz Anonymous Kink Meme. I had intended to get them beta read and to polish them up before posting them, but I simply haven't had either the time or the energy to work on them even though I got a generous beta read on three of them.

I'm currently trying to get things off of my to-do list, and I don't think I'm ever going to get the rewrites done, so I'm going to post the fics as they are. The fact that I have difficulty referring to them without swearing seems to me an indication that I'm stressed about not having them done. I'm hoping that posting will relieve that.

Two of the stories have titles, and I'll index them under those titles, "Occlusion" and "Torsion." These two stories don't have titles. I don't expect them ever to have titles.

Note: Written for the Weiss Kreuz Anonymous Kink Meme. This is a tiny fragment of a huge AU that will never be written completely because, while I find the story interesting and the character arcs plausible (given my AU elements), I don't want to let it have that much space in my brain. The characters aren't people I want to live with for long enough to tell their whole story. I may occasionally write small snippets of this when I'm stuck on other things, but I'm unlikely ever to write more than fragments.

Note 23 May 2003: My daughter was born on May 17th 2003. I've done very little writing since. I've been thinking about "Rheotaxis" a bit though, so it hasn't entirely vanished from my mind. I'll get back to writing after I adjust a bit more. Of course, right at the moment, I'm spending a lot of my time just staring at my little girl and admiring her.
Note 9 May 2006: I am still working on "Rheotaxis." It's just going very slowly. Being a mother is more demanding than I expected, and I've had some health troubles. I've promised myself that I'll finish this story. Keep your fingers crossed that I can find an occasional babysitter who doesn't charge more than I can afford.

Amy the Evitable has written me two omakes for "Rheotaxis." Chronologically, they precede part 1 of "Rheotaxis," but they won't make much sense until after you've read part 1. Omake 1. Omake 2.
